Holy Wars
Holy Wars is a poem of fifty individual glass pieces, each one sandblasted with a four-letter word, placed on the floor and on the wall, giving the appearance of being windblown. To create a sense of irony in the text, I used words that are spelled the same but have different meanings (wake, toll), and words that sound the same but have different meanings (prey, pray).
Fused, slumped glass with gold leaf inclusion, sandblasted text, 8½" x 9¼"
